Car owners tips for trouble free motoring

July 31, 2013 in Julie Likes

I’ve collated these tips from a local mechanic business - Fuel Solutions.

Don’t allow anything go awry with your car on the way, by having all of the maintenance up to date. Check the battery and tires, and make sure the oil has been changed recently. Properly prepare and map your route so you will always know exactly where you are. Call ahead for any details you need on road construction, or where to get lodging. Obtain maps of the vicinity for the durations you go away from the road sightseeing. Once you learn where you are and where you’re headed, you’ll make much better decisions every step of the way. It is pretty obvious to be aware, but most accidents are caused by the inattention of drivers. As long as you remain focused behind the wheel and have completed your planning, road trips can be wonderful experiences.
You may need to do a little extra prepping for your car so it is ready for the winter months. Winter can bring concerns for your vehicle, that happen to be considerably different, especially where the winter is severe. For those who have a newer car or truck, it may not mean much but you should still be cautious. It might save you quite a bit of money if you follow some basic tips.
A cell phone is a necessity in case there is an emergency, but try not to use it for chatting while you’re driving. Just be sure it’s working and in easy reach. Phones contribute to accidents when being used in the car, however they are invaluable to have if you have car trouble. Seatbelts are usually a major lifesaver, and are required by most states, so use yours. Car or truck thieves are usually on the look out for vacationers, so take precautions. Make use of steering wheel locking devices, switches that immobilize the fuel system or ignition systems and have electronic tracking devices, and criminals will be deterred. Your car may not be quite ready for an oil change, but do it anyway.
When your automobile is older, use a lighter weight oil, since it will keep the parts lubricated during the winter. Newer cars and trucks generally use lighter weight oil all year-long. In case you have not changed them yet, you must also replace your wiper blades for the winter. The ice and snow will be wiped off effectively with the help of new wiper blades. You should also get your snow tires on also for the traction. To make it easier, you might need to get all-season radial tires. Additionally, it is quite crucial that all your insurance papers actually be with you in your car. You’ve got to be all set. Nobody expects an accident, but should one take place it’s way better to be prepared.

Fixed Double Post Issue!

July 2, 2013 in Julie Likes

I’d like to say I did it myself but I didn’t :p All it was was a WordPress theme setting which was set to show 3 blog posts on the home page, and I’d also added all blog posts to the home page.

Here’s a screen shot in case it helps anyone else, and may prevent you going hairless like me!
All you need to do is change Last 3 posts on home to Hide. That’s it.
Simple really, and a rather irritatiting setting if you ask me.
I got a local company to fix it, so email them (NOT ME! :p ) if you have and questions - Shadowpro Web Design Gold Coast.
I might actually get them to paint up this place as I think it’s looking pretty drab and boring all white and grey.
I’m thinking of using my Photoshop skills to design the look of the page and getting a web design bod to do the hideous techieness to it.
So, please comment about colours, themes, and all thing pretty, but please, please, don’t bother trying to sell me trainers, content writing or SEO.
I’ve got over 300 SPAM post awaiting deletion already and you’re wasting your time so don’t bother.

Exchange Crisis

June 8, 2013 in Stuff

Agreement with the Bank for international settlements, only 5% of capital flows that are listed the world correspond to productive activities. That is 95% corresponds to speculative capital flows.

There exchange crisis occurs when, as result of a speculative attack against the currency of a country, there is a strong devaluation or central bank sold large amounts of reserves or raise interest rates to defend the currency.

A financial crisis in an emerging country or in transition, international investors generalize the situation and removed a herd not only capitals of the country in crisis but from the rest of emerging countries and transferred to “safer economies”.

No ceases to amaze how a tiny increase in high-risk mortgages (US $ 34 billion, corresponding to 0.26% of U.S. GDP) has been able to disturb and affect both the global economic and financial system. Part of the answer lies in the almost non-existent capital of financial agents to support operations that perform (with a dollar support US $33, as it was the case with Bear Stearn and Carlyle Capital Group).

Since the 1970s, more than 120 financial crisis and Bank 45 occurred in particular in emerging countries, creating volatility, uncertainty and instability. This means that every two months comes an event of uncertainty financial or Exchange in any part of the world.

Not good.

Microsoft Outlook!

June 7, 2013 in Julie Hates

Just from the title I suspect you know this is not one for the Julie Love’s bin?
No.
It’s not.
Not at all.
My Outlook PST file is corrupt.
Luckily I backup all My Documents.
Unfortunately I have now found that Outlook DOES NOT STORE THE MAILBOX IN MY DOCUMENTS!
It stores it in some stupid place instead.
I’ve got my email working again – a local place called something like computer repair Coomera came and got it going again, but the PST was toast.
Thanks Microsoft.
